December 24th -
Michelle, Kevin and I started driving towards Moab, Utah from Ontario at 1pm. It was a 700 miles drive and would take about 11 hours of driving, without any breaks. We got lucky and we beat Las Vegas traffic.
We grabbed dinner at St George, Utah and continued our journey up north.
By the time we started driving on I 70 East, it started snowing heavily. Kevin and I had to put tire chains at 11pm, and it was a big struggle!
After driving for about 13 hours Finally at 3am Mountain time ( one hour ahead of Pacific time) we reached Moab, Utah.
December 25th -
It was a white Christmas in tiny town of Moab. It was snowing in the morning. We decided to go to Canyonlands National Park and explore the park. The road to park was slippery, but we made it safely to the park. Visitor center of the park was closed and there was only 1 another car in the park.
We decided to hike to Murphy Point overlook. We hiked for about 1 mile to realize that all we could see was 25 feet from us. So we decided to turn around and head to Arches National Park.
Arches National Park -
We spent about 3 hours exploring Arches National park.
We did a short hike to Delicate Arch, the most popular arch of the park and which is on license plate of Utah. The trail was super icy and scary, but we made it out and back safely with the help of microspikes on our shoes.
